Pitztal - the ice climbing paradise

In the Pitztal mountains can be conquered in various different ways. One very special challenge is ice climbing. In winter, when the waterfalls of the Pitztal mountain scenery freeze, enchanting and impressive ice formations are created turning the Pitztal into a paradise for ice climbers.

Depending on weather conditions and temperature climbers can choose from up to 30 routes in various levels of difficulty - from beginner to pro. In the Pitztal alpinists find some of the world's toughest ice climbing routes!

Those of you who want to try this kind of alpine climbing for the first time are advised to do so together with a professional mountain and ski guide from the Pitztal from the Ski School, Club Alpin Pitztal or Alpine Adventure as well as  Bergführerbüro Pitztal.

Tip: If you want to participate in the annual Eis Total Ice Climbing Festival in the Pitztal, you have to register early. Bizarre ice waterfalls and a basecamp atmosphere await all participants from the Alpine region and you can also test the latest equipment. The evening events (e.g. workshops, presentations etc.) take place in our Hotel Garni Andreas Hofer.
