Hiking in the Pitztal - Tyrol
Throughout the Pitztal, there are a total of 380 km of hiking route waiting to be discovered in the three wonderful hiking areas:
- Pitztaler Glacier hiking resort - St. Leonhard, Mittelberg
- Rifflsee hiking resort - St- Leonhard, Mandarfen
- Hochzeiger hiking resort - Jerzens, Liss
Perfect conditions await you in your hiking holiday in the Tyrolean Pitztal! Reach the lofty mountain heights doing it the hard way using your own muscle power, or else without straining yourself by using the Pitztal cable cars. Use them, particularly if you want to be kind to your knees on the way back down! The Pitztaler Bergbahnen (cable cars) are the perfect way to access the region’s many hiking routes! And with the “Bambini-Freipass”, children under 10 can use the cable cars on the Hochzeiger and at the Rifflsee and Pitztal Glacier hiking areas for free when accompanied by a parent.
The Pitztal tourism association organises a hiking programme with many diverse hiking tours to the most beautiful corners of the Pitztal Alps for its guests during the summer. Guests with a “Pitztaler Freizeitpass” (Pitztal leisure pass) can take part in the tourism association’s hiking program for free. Even the hiking bus is free for the Pitztal’s guests!
