Snow shoeing and winter hiking in the Pitztal
Winter hiking routes in the Pitztal
In the Pitztal, about 150km of winter hiking routes can lead you to the most beautiful places in the mountains of Tyrol. Enjoy magnificent panoramas on short walks or discover the natural beauty of the Pitztal on long hikes. You will find cleared winter hiking routes to suit every taste in the towns of Arzl, Wenns, Jerzens and St. Leonhard. You can even set off on the trail of wind animals: the wild-animal adventure trail in Arzl is recommended for families by insiders (duration: approx. 1.5 hrs).
Snowshoe hiking in the Pitztal
You are also able to go on snow shoeing expeditions in the Pitztal, away from the cleared winter hiking routes. You don’t need any previous experience whatsoever and are guaranteed an intense natural experience! Along with skilled and certified mountain guides and/or ski instructors, discover the Pitztal’s magnificent winter landscape. The Hochzeiger – Pitztal and Pitztal Alpine Club Ski school offer led snow shoe hikes with certified mountain- and ski instructors ranging from hikes suitable for beginners to challenging summit tours.
