The Pitztal lies between the Ötztal and Kaunertal in the Tyrolean “Oberland”. You can travel here by train and bus, plane and car.

By car coming from ...

... Southern Germany, France as well as Holland and Belgium:
go via the German A7 motorway and the toll and vignette-free Fern Pass route until Imst and continue into the Pitztal. Stuttgart (approx. 280km - Kempten - Memmingen - Füssen - Reutte - Imst - Pitztal)

... north Germany
via Munich (approx. 160km), Garmisch and the toll and vignette-free Fern Pass route to Imst and into the Pitztal
or
via Munich and the Austrian A12 motorway via Kufstein (the “Inntalautobahn A12” towards Bregenz), then past Innsbruck, Imst and into the Pitztal

... Switzerland and Vorarlberg
via the Arlberg route, Landeck (the Inntalautobahn A12 towards Innsbruck) until the Imst / Pitztal exit

... the south and Italy
via the Brenner motorway - Innsbruck - Inntalautobahn (motorway) A12 towards Bregenz – Imst / Pitztal exit


During the winter, prepare your car for the winter conditions at home before you set off and don’t forget your snow chains. The roads can be treacherous and covered in snow in the Inner Pitztal, St. Leonhard (near to the Pitztal Glacier) from the start of the season (around mid-September) until the end of May!

Arrive at the Pitztal stress and traffic jam free

The Deutsche Bahn (German train service) promises you a stress and traffic jam-free journey to the Tyrol with its car trains.

from Dortmund, Hamburg and Cologne to Landeck or from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hildesheim and Cologne to Innsbruck


By bus ...

Go on holiday car FREE and without having to cope with traffic – a bus journey with the constant connections into the Pitztal!

Travel by train ...

... to Imst-Pitztal train station at the entrance of the Pitztal (10 km to Arzl, 52 km to the Pitztal Glacier and the end of the valley).

Mountain Event 2012

Fun, action and adrenalin are awaiting you on the 21st of February (at 9 pm) at the Hochzeiger middle station. Watch out when young and wild freestylers, air boarder and snowmobile riders show their spectacular tricks, jumps and fire shows.
